Export selected files to Excel
One method of using the Export to Excel feature is to simply open the KBase folder in Outlook and select the file or files you wish to export. Then click the Export to Excel button, and the dialog above opens. Used in this way the Export to Excel application may actually be utilized for all Outlook folders and not only for the KBase folder. For example, you can instead open the mail inbox and select some e-mails to export. However, you must then run the Export to Excel application from the KBase installation folder instead.

Export to Excel by KBase category or type
With KBase you can categorize articles in Problem category and Problem type, and when using the Export to Excel application with KBase you might want to export all articles of a certain category or type. Then you should select the option “Export KBase articles”, and the dialog expands to the one shown below. By default all categories and types are checked, and you just have to uncheck the ones you don’t wish to publish.

Export to Excel by creator of KBase articles
Another alternative for the Excel export is to export all articles by a certain creator. Maybe your own KBase articles? Just write the name given as creator in the KBase articles you wish to export, and the application will do the rest.

Export Attachments and HTML to Excel?
Either you use the select or the KBase method you may opt to include attachments in the export and/or export the HTML code also. If you do not choose these alternatives, you will get ordinary text files in Excel. If you choose them, everything in the KBase articles will be included.

Free upgrades
Community Members and Single Support customers may upgrade KBase without any cost. Just download and run the file and select the alternative “Upgrade” in the installer.

Try it!
Have you not tried KBase yet? You are welcome to evaluate KBase for 30 days ‒ then it has to be registered to keep on working. The KBase articles cannot only be exported to Excel but also saved as HTML pages and published on a website. You may also integrate the articles in a SharePoint site or in Outlook Web Access. Or simply share them in a public folder or shared mailbox, like most users do!
